Phasmophobia is soon set to debut on consoles, simultaneously with its Progression 2.0 update, both targeting an August release. The question remains: will it support crossplay across all these new platforms?
Developer Kinetic Games has confirmed that Phasmophobia will support cross platform in August on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PSVR 2. It's expected to be available right from launch.
Does Phasmophobia Support Crossplay Cross Platform?
Phasmophobia players, regardless of whether they're on PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or VR, will have the ability to pair with others across these platforms. Consequently, when it comes to matchmaking and seeking fellow ghost hunters, no platform will be left out due to the open crossplay support.
Crossplay support was confirmed in a promotional trailer that Kinetic Games put out revealing the first details of the Progression update and news that it would be releasing on consoles. You can check this trailer out below.
If you're the type who prefers to stick to your own gaming tribe, no worries! There will be an option to switch off crossplay in the settings menu.
As Progression 2.0 rolls out, all players can expect a level reset. But don't worry, legacy players - your past hunts won't go unnoticed. You'll earn prestige levels that unlock some of your previously acquired equipment. Additionally, the update is set to bring about alterations to some of the equipment, notably the D.O.T.S. Projector, as well as seasonal events and an improved reward system.
While Kinetic Games hasn't announced a precise date, it is mentioned in the trailer that this revamp is scheduled for an August landing. And when it does touch down, rejoice, for crossplay will be a reality.
